Hayek Program Senior Fellow Jayme Lemke continues her interview series to explore the core ideas and methods that drive the research of the Hayek Program. For the third installment of this series, Lemke interviews Director Peter Boettke on another one of these core approaches: the Bloomington School of Political Economy. This research tradition was established by Elinor Ostrom, Vincent Ostrom, and other scholars in the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis at Indiana University Bloomington. In this video, Lemke and Boettke discuss insights that the Ostroms had regarding the science and art of association, self-governing democracies, and self-sustaining social orders. On April 11th KVCR Television and sister station FNX | First Nations Experience partnered with Bloomington High School to create a video presentation for their first participation in the ‘Every 15 Minutes’ program. E15M aims to prevent drunk driving among high school students and offers a real-life drunk driving tragic experience without the real-life risks. This emotionally charged program is an event designed to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking and driving. Every 15 Minutes challenges students to think about drinking, personal safety and the responsibility of making mature decisions when lives are involved.
